It's National Best Friend Day, so of course today's post needed to feature some art from @jordybabyart. Go check out her Instagram and Etsy pages! I have her art everywhere and seriously can't get enough of it ❤️
Anyway, to the review. Celebrity memoirs are my forte. I love reading them, especially when comedy is involved! I have loved Joel McHale since The Soup days, and I actually cried when it got cancelled. Then The Joel McHale Show Starring Joel McHale brought back some happiness... until it made me cry after that one was cancelled. To bring back some happiness, I decided to listen to the audiobook for Thanks for the Money. It was the best thing ever! I actually think the audiobook was a better investment than a paper copy because Joel McHale has a special delivery that he manages to nail every single time.
What I loved most about this story is that Joel McHale truly had to work his way up. From crappy apartments to weird commercials to finally hosting his own show. Throughout the entire book, however, he manages to sound incredibly normal. Half the time, I forgot he was a famous person with a ton of money. He just seems genuinely down to earth and willing to work for what he has. Oh, and did I mention that he's really funny?
