Laptop to Match Library

About a year or so ago I become obsessed with the combination of rose gold and marble! Now, everything in my library is a combination of those colors from my pillows to my book cart. I realized that when I have my dream place, my library will also have a desk, which will have my laptop. Of course, this means my laptop needs to match... but as you all know... I do not like to pay a lot for items. So, I decided to refurbish one of my old cases to make it match my library!

Materials

  • A laptop case (mine is a rose gold glitter one from Amazon)

  • Scrapbook paper

  • Vinyl or Washi tape

  • Studs, stickers, pearls, or whatever else you would like

  • Heatless Laminate Paper (you can find this at Target)

  • Scissors

  • Straight edge to cut (or a cutting board)

  • Glue (I use Mod Podge)

Steps

  1. Figure out how you want your laptop to look. I'm not one for planning, but in this case, it really helps.

  2. For this design, the marble paper is simple scrapbook paper. I cut it to the size I wanted and then cut the heatless laminate to be the same shape but a slightly larger size.

  3. Put very little Mod Podge on the back of the scrapbook paper just to get it to stay in place.

  4. Once in place, put the heatless self laminate over the paper, having the side edges secure it on to the case permanently. Not only does this add a security point, but it also adds a nice shine and professional look.

  5. Once I did this, I cut some strips from my Cricut black permanent vinyl to hide the rest of the laminate. Since the vinyl sticks on it's own, this made it super easy to hide any leftover edges!

  6. Once the black was on, I used Mod Podge to stick the pineapple sticker into the middle.

  7. Finally, I used stickable studs to decorate the vinyl edges, and voila! It's like a whole new case using materials I already had around the house!

As you can see, it goes really well with the rest of my library decor! I even bought a similar phone case, and my graduation cap has the same thing, so it all really flows :) I think this would also make a great gift for someone, and it'll look like you spent a fortune!
