Story by: Rainbow Rowell

Adapted by: Sam Maggs

Illustrated by: Gabi Nam

5/5 Fan-fictions

Fangirl is arguably one of Rainbow Rowell's most famous pieces of work. If you're a Rainbow Rowell fan, you're likely a fan of Simon Snow, Baz, and of course, Cath and Levi. Sam Maggs adapted such a beloved story into something that even reluctant readers won't be able to put down!

Volume 1 changes hardly anything from the original! It begins with Cath and Wren heading off to college and leaves off at Cath and Levi's emergency dance party. There will eventually be four installments, but for now, this is the only one. Gabi Nam masterfully draws the story. Somehow, she managed to portray all the characters exactly how they looked in my head. Even Simon and Baz look exactly how I pictured!

I'll admit, I'm a little too obsessed with these characters, but I just can't help it! I relate to Cath so much, and I really wish this book had existed during my first year of college because I think it would've helped me feel more understood. Luckily, I did find my Levi a little later, but knowing there was hope for an understanding and decent man among all the Nicks, would have been a blessing. Oh well, better late than never!

I highly recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of Fangirl. It is beautifully done and doesn't take any damaging creative liberties. I absolutely devoured this book in about an hour. The pictures, if anything, make the story even more emotional. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
