4/5 Blackberries

How did this book make me feel? Stupid. This book made me feel stupid. One reason is because it took me so long to read it. I'm not a huge Trevor Noah fan, but I think that has changed by now. Another reason I felt stupid is because I had no education pertaining to apartheid. Every sentence I read yielded a surprised gasp from me. I think it's an absolute injustice that schools don't discuss apartheid more. Sure, it's not American history, but I still think it's prevalent and important for us to know.

God, Noah's memoir had me feeling all types of ways. Mostly heartbroken. I can't believe this breezy comedian has faced such trauma and hardship. I have a newfound respect for Noah, as anyone who can succeed after overcoming struggles others would succumb to has earned high regards.
